Check out this tune by the Hardsteppers Cold Fire featuring Skream; this is the type of dub steppy tunes that I'm feeling.

BOXCUTTER!!!, also Benga, Skream, Parson (parson's an Austin TX local, I think he's poised to blow up BIG, dubstep with a big dose of dirty south flava), Milanese, Virus Syndicate, Loofah...it took me a while to get into dubstep, then I heard the shit on a good system with decent subs. I think that hearing dubstep on a system capable of reproducing superlow frequencies is essential. If you can't hear all the bottom end, you're missing the whole point of the genre. Luke Vibert makes some amazing dubstep-style tunes that are a bit different from anything else out there. Also, Shitmat's Gary's Gruesome Garage is AMAZING.

dubstep is what drum n bass could never become.
in the beginning drum n bass had a deep abstraction to it. once it developed into a standard form the abstraction was lost and with it. it's soul was lost. i see so many of us searching for the abstraction that was once deep within drum n bass. we glimpse it's presence by digging deeper into oldschool jungle, but we can only go so far into history before it no longer exists.

i see dubstep being the answer, only as long as it does not become standard. which sadly is already happening.

hey is The Bug considered Doomstep or Dubstep or just The Bug like Squarepusher?

if its considered doomstep would that not contribute to the defamation of dubstep by splintering its fundementals?
