That was December 31st, 1998. A discussion group on Yahoo, aptly named “De Ragga Jungle Yard” was created by DJ Natty out of Chicago. The group grew in popularity amongst the young internet and fans of the ragga jungle sound worldwide. In the summer of 2002, Rhygin suggested to Natty that they convert the group into a website. Here’s how the first website looked:
Fast forward to the summer of 2013. With the site near defunct and barely functioning, Rhygin trustingly handed over the keys to the kingdom to carry on the legacy of Ragga-Jungle.com. This site has represented a lot of things for a lot of people. Great friendships, music and connections have been made because of this forum. It is my honor to carry the legacy forward. And with that being said, I do not claim this site as my own. It is ours. It is our community that will carry it forward. I call on all of you to submit content to the site as you see fit. Interviews, articles, videos, mixes, photographs, and anything else relevant to ragga jungle, jungle, or reggae-driven drum and bass music. Rejoin the forum. Find old friends. Make new ones. Help build this site back to the glory it once was.
Endless thanks to Evan (Rhygin) for everything he has contributed to the global ragga jungle community.
The revolution continues…
